The Naviglio is an ancient watercourse of the Brenta river. The hydraulic changes, made by the Republic of Venice, created locks and movable bridges that made it navigable. Even today the burchiello, a boat that recalls the ancient Venetian boat pulled by horses, passes through it. Between the 16th and 18th centuries, villas and summer residences of the Venetian nobility were built along the banks of this waterway, known as the Riviera del Brenta. Today the Riviera is the ideal place for cycling routes between art and nature and for staying to visit Venice.
